Shamsu.id - A Turkish court sentenced 108 years in prison to a man, who commits sexual crimes against dozens of boys Syrian refugees.
The verdict was handed down in the trial that was held Friday, June 3 local time as reported by AFP on Saturday (06/04/2016).
Defendant initials E.E. it was a janitor in Nizip refugee camp in Gaziantep, Turkey. He was charged with sex crimes against a total of 30 Syrian boy in the toilets of the camp from September 2015 until earlier this year. The victims were 8 years old to 12 years old.
In the trial, 29-year old Turkish man had confessed that he deceive his victims to go to the toilet, which was not fitted with CCTV cameras. It was there that the accused had sex with the victim after paying 1.5 to 5 lira for each child. According to him, many employees and managers in the refugee camp were also involved in sex crimes refugee children.
The offense came to light after a boy initials H.I told her father about the defendant. So far the family of eight children had reported the case to police. The families of the other victims did not take similar measures for fear of being deported.
The sexual abuse was never detected by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkey, which manages the refugee camps.
